Wayanad: This year’s first death in Kerala due to monkey fever or Kyansur forest disease has been reported from Wayanad. A housewife, Meenakshi, died today at the Kozhikode Medical College.
Meenakshi was brought to the medical college with high fever. It was only later that the doctors realized that she was suffering from monkey fever.
Kerala is already under alert due to five new cases of Covid-19 reported from Pathanamthitta. Earlier, Malayalee students who were infected by the coronavirus were brought back from China. Fortunately, they survived the infection and was discharged by the hospital.
