Thiruvananthapuram: Two persons in Kerala have tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. The patients hail from Kannur and Thrissur districts. With this ninteen persons have been infected out which three patients have been cured of the disease.
The Chief Minister, Pinarayai Vijayan, informed the media about the new cases during a press conference. He said that the state is under high alert and the situation is not yet under control.
The government machinery has been effective in containing the spread of the virus. The government is responsible about the security of the health workers. The government is thinking about hiring volunteers to help the health workers in fighting COVID-19.
The Chief Minister also said that public programmes will not be allowed till 31 March. He added that distancing foreigners is not a good thing and is not in our culture. The government will seriously view any situation in which foreigners are mistreated.
He also added that the infection is most dangerous to the elderly people and special attention will be given to them.
