Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mullappally Ramachandran, today, accused the state government for not implementing effective surveillance at airport to identify passengers with COVID-19. This has led to fear and scare among the people concerning the infection.
Mullappally Ramachandran also demanded that an all-party meet should be called to discuss about the current situation.
The KPCC President said,”A panel of medical experts should be formed, who should come up with medical bulletin on a daily basis. Instead of the Health Minister briefing the media, it will be better if experts do it.”
Ramachandran added that the government must alleviate the fear of the people in the state after many cases of infection were reported.
He also demanded that those stranded in Italy must be brought back and asked the government to ensure that visas of those who came for vacation from Middle East must be extended so that they do not lose their jobs.
