Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there are no new cases of COVID-19 in the state today. Although, this is a relief, he said that the state must still maintain high precautions against the infection.
Currently, there are around 25,000 under observation in homes and 237 in hospitals. 57 persons reached hospitals today to be under observation.
The Chief Minister added that more medical facilities will be given to every region in the state and also that measures to increase doctor’s time at Primary Health Centres will be done.
Pinarayi Vijayan also spoke with religious leaders via video conferencing. He said that many people are arriving at Mosques for the Friday prayers and this must be avoided to prevent further spread of the infection.
The Chief Minister also said that festivals of temples and pongala rituals must be limited.
