Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, said that one person has been tested positive for COVID-19. This takes the total number of infected persons to 25 in the state. The patient infected with the novel corona virus hails from Kasargod.
Though the total number of those who were infected was 28, three patients have been recovered.
The total number of persons under observation is 31,173 out which 30,936 people are at homes and the rest 237 is being observed at hospitals. Out of the 2921 samples taken for tests the result of 2342 came out negative.
The Chief Minister said that the state is undergoing a grave situation and the social life and the economy is in tatters. To help tide the situation the Pinarayi Vjiayan said that a financial package of Rs. 20,000 crore will be announced.
Kerala is bracing itself to face the third and most dangerous state of the virus spread. It is this stage which showed the number of persons being infected rising alarmingly. Pinarayi Vijayan has asked local bodies to identify spaces to isolate those who show symptoms of COVID-19 infection. This includes hospitals, schools, lodges, auditoriums etc.
