Thiruvananthapuram: Beverage Corporation outlets and bars will not function on Sunday in connection with the Janata curfew. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier announced that the state would fully cooperate with the Janata curfew, which was called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 22.

The state-owned transportation system, including the metro, will not ply. The Chief Minister had also urged the people to clean the premises of the houses on Sunday. The Chief Minister had said that he would follow the central government’s direction to deal with the crisis.

The situation is alarming as the number of coronavirus cases in the state is increasing day by day. 12 new people have been diagnosed with the disease.

Five cases were reported from Kochi, six from Kasaragod and one from Palakkad.

Five of the patients who were diagnosed with the disease were foreigners, said the Chief Minister.
