Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a complete lockdown in Kerala till March 31.
All borders in the state to remain closed, operations of all public transport to cease. All places of worship to also remain closed.
He urged the people of Kasaragod to remain indoors. Those seen outside unnecessarily will be arrested.
Lockdown will be in effect from tonight.
Every district in the state to have special hospitals for the treatment of COVID-19. Banks to remain open till 2 pm.
The state will ensure availability of essential commodities. The petrol pumps in the state will be opened. The supply of LPG will not be ceased. Hospitals will be fully functional. Hotels will not be permitted to open. At the same time there is no barrier to home delivery.
28 Coronavirus cases reported in Kerala today, taking the total cases in the state to 95 (including 4 patients who have been discharged and 91 who are undergoing treatment),said CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
