Janam tv reporter and cameraman assaulted at Kozhikode while covering illegal offloading of liquor at govt’s beverages godown

Kozhikode: In a shocking incident, Janam TV reporter and cameraman who arrived at Vellayil in Kozhikode have been attacked badly by the CITU, INTUC groups.

The channel’s reporter and cameraman had arrived at the location to break into Government Beverages godown after receiving information on illegal offloading of liquor in violation of protocol at the godown.

Liqour was being offloaded without complying with any safety standards prescribed by the government.

Janam tv reporter A N Abhilash and cameraman Midhun were attacked by the group. They also tried to capture Janam tv mic and smash the camera.

At the time of lockdown prevailing in Kozhikode, a group of 20 persons tried to offload liquor.

The BJP alleged that the attack took place with the direction of Sawad and Riyas.

Although, the incident took place in the presence of the police, nobody has been taken into custody.
