Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister, K. K. Shylaja, reported that 20 persons have been identified with COVID-19 virus in the state today. While Kannur district reported 8 cases, Kasaragod reported 7 cases. Single cases have been reported from Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
Out of the total cases reported today, eighteen persons contracted the disease from abroad, while two persons got infected through direct contacts. The person infected in Thiruvananthapuram has been in the ICU of the isolation ward of the Thrivananthapuram Medical College.
Meanwhile, the results of four persons who were under medical treatment in Pathanamthitta came out negative. Currently, there are 202 patients with confirmed coronavirus infection in the state. There are 181 persons undergoing treatment in many hospitals.
A total number of 1, 41,211 people are under observation in all the districts of the state. Out of this 593 persons are under observation in hospitals while the rest are at home quarantine. 6690 samples of suspected coronavirus patients were sent for testing and 5518 results received so far are found to be negative.
