Thiruvananthapuram: In the cabinet meeting today, it has been decided to declare four districts under red zone of coronavirus infections. According to reports, it has also been decided to seek a change in the red zone list provided by the Centre.
Districts with large number of coronavirus cases will be categorized as red zone. Kasaragod, Kannur, Malappuram and Kozhikode are the districts that will be included in red zone.
The changes were made after taking into consideration the rate of transmission of the virus disease.
The cabinet has also asked to put Wayanad and Kottayam in Green zones. The rest of the eight districts will be under orange zone.
These changes will be into force subject to the approval of the Central government.
