Thiruvananthapuram: Seven new cases have popped up on Thursday in Kerala, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The cases reported are from Kannur (4), Kozhikode (2), and Kasaragod (1). Five of the them had returned from abroad while remaining two developed disease through contact.
Meanwhile, test results of 27 persons turned out negative on Thursday. Among them, 24 are from Kasaragod while one each are from Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kannur districts.
“The number of COVID-19 positive cases reported on Thursday is only one third of the number of people who were cured of the virus on the same day. This shows the success of the state’s healthcare and preventive measures,” the CM added.
