Thiruvananthapuram: Union minister of state for external affairs, V Muraleedharan stated that repatriation of expatriates without ensuring quarantine facilities will put them in trouble and this is why the central government is not coming up with a quick decision.
He made the statement through Facebook on Friday.
Muraleedharan slammed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala for targeting the Central government.
The Centre shall not take a hasty decision in bringing back the expats amid the spread of coronavirus as it will pose danger to the people of the country. He also pointed out efforts of the Centre for the welfare of NRIs.
“The Centre offered 100 per cent refund of the pre-booked flight tickets following the ‘ lockdown. It is the latest example of the Central government’s welfare policies for expats,” added the union minister.
