Thiruvananthapuram: Online registration will be made mandatory for inter-state travel to Kerala after the lockdown that ends on May 3. The permission will be given t o only those who produce a medical certificate that certifies no coronavirus disease for the traveler. NORKA’s assistance was sought for online registration procedure. Transport secretary KR Jyothilal has been assigned to coordinate the tasks.
The details of the passengers will be collected and inspection at the checkposts will be arranged. Authorities are considering the option of allowing passengers only through Manjeswaram, Muthanaga, Walayar and Amaravila checkposts.
The government is also mulling over sending KSRTC buses to bring back stranded natives in other states. AC and inter-state buses shall not resume its services soon.
The authorities will ensure that those who returned from other states go in quarantine.
