Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Secretary Tom Jose affirmed that the public transport services shall not be resumed after lockdown. He said that the state has been categorized into different zones as per the intensity of virus transmission.
According to the Centre, if no positive cases of coronavirus is reported within 21 days, the place will be put under Green Zone.
In the new list issued by the Central Government, two districts in Kerala are in Red Zone, two districts in Green Zone and the rest in Orange Zone. However, according to the state list, four districts are in Red Zone and the rest are in Orange Zone, the chief secretary added.
He said that post the lockdown period on May 4, the restrictions in the state will be on the basis of the Centre’s guidelines. The states cannot take decision on the restrictions. The state can impose strict restrictions but have no authority to ease the lockdown norms, said Tom Jose.
