Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Armed forces showcased a unique way to thank all the coronavirus frontline warriors today starting with the laying of wreaths by the three service chiefs at the police memorial in Delhi this morning to honour police personnel deployed for enforcement of the nationwide lockdown, flypast by the Air Force to lighting up of warships by the Navy.
Indian Army meanwhile honoured the police officers in Thiruvananthapuram Police Headquarters when Pangode Military station commander Brigadier Karthik Sheshadri presented a cake to state police chief Lokanath Behra.
Gloves, masks and greeting cards were also handed over to the police.
Brigadier Karthik Sheshadri said that the work exercised by the police alsong with healthcare workers, cleaning workers and other government agencies is invaluable. He also lauded the effort of the police in implementing the lockdown and containing the disease.
DGP appreciated the Army’s thanksgiving gesture to the police forces across the country.
