Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has stopped issuing inter-state travel pass to Keralites. Fresh passes will be issued only after the present people with the passes are allowed to enter into the state and put in quarantine.
According to reports, delay in isolating the returnees and testing them for coronavirus has led to this decision. Senior IAS official Biswanath Sinha recommended the government to temporarily suspend issuing the travel pass.
Officials who are in charge of quarantining the returnees from other states are also responsible to make arrangements to quarantine the expats. Sinha has also taken this into consideration.
Meanwhile, people from different states can apply for the pass through the website COVID Jagratha. At the same time, Keralites who are stranded in Tamil Nadu were unable to give Walayar check-post as an option while submitting the online application on Wednesday evening.
