Kozhikode: Koodaranji panchayat Vice President Thomas Mathew resigned after widespread protests erupted for allegedly posting an obscene picture on a WhatsApp group. The group also consisted of women members.
Several political parties staged protests in front of the office demanding Thomas Mathew’s resignation. Thomas Mathew, a CPM leader, was accused over his alleged abuse of office.
The local natives had sought action against this act of the CPM leader to the DGP. The locals also alleged that the police had acted unfairly in taking against him. He was booked later under the IT Act. The case has been registered by the Thiruvambady police.
