Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala confirmed 24 new cases of coronavirus today said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Of the 24 new cases, 7 are from Palakkad, 4 from Malappuram, 3 from Kannur, 2 from Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur each, and one each from Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Alappuzha.
Of the total infected people, 12 arrived from abroad, 8 came from Maharashtra, 3 from Tamil Nadu. One person in Kannur contracted disease via contact.
There are a total of 666 confirmed cases and 161 people are undergoing treatment. 533 people are hospitalized for monitoring.
The number cases have been surging in the state after people started to arrive from abroad. However, there are no new hotspots, said the Chief Minister.
