Kalady: In the incident pertaining to vanadalizing of ‘minnal Murali’ film set, Deshabhimani newspaper has been accused of publishing fake news by defaming Sangh Parivar organisations.
On the 10th page of the paper dated May 27 of the Kochi edition, a news with the headline, “Three more accused arrested in vandalizing film set’, Deshabhimani has referred that “Bajrang Dal, a wing of Sangh Parivar Organisation, headed in destructing the film set.”
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has come forward against this news on behalf of Sangh Parivar orgainsations. VHP Kalady Prakhand President V.S Subin Kumar in association with Adv Sreenath sent defamatory notice to Deshabhimani’s Chief Editor P Rajeevan and publisher K.J.Thomas.
It is to be noted that the state general secretary of the International Hindu Parishad said that it was them and their youth wing, the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, that destroyed the set on the very day it was demolished. This organisation has no link with RSS, BJP or VHP.
The notice also states to apologize within 15 days of receipt of notice and publish news with reality. It also sought Rs 10 lakh compensation for the defamatory remarks against the Sangh Parivar organisations.
