Kozhikode: BJP State President K Surendran on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on state government saying that the CPM government has eyes on the assets owned by Devaswom Board and not in the welfare of devotees. He was responding on the government’s decision to reopen temples.

K Surendran was speaking at the Calicut Press Club.

He said that when Christians and Muslim clergies decided not to reopen their churches and mosques respectively, the state government is zing about reopening temples.

The BJP State Chief also lashed at Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran stating that if the latter is greedy, he should not use devotees for his personal gains. Surendran said that Kadakampally Surendran has taken a doctorate to act against the believers.

K Surendran said that the Left government is taking double stance in the case of devotees. The government did not discuss or seek opinion from temple protection committees, Hindu Aikya Vedi or Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He asked, “Is N Vasu the only devotee that government is aware of?”

Considering the present situation, like other temples, the Devaswom Board temples need not be opened till the 30th of this month.
