Thiruvananthapuram: A coronavirus patient who had fled from the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on Tuesday, committed suicide after being brought back to the hospital on Wednesday.
The deceased is a Anadu native who hanged himself inside the isolation ward. He was soon taken to the ICU but could not save him.
The patient had reached home by the means of a bus and an auto rickshaw. However, he was stopped by local residents and somehow healthcare workers managed to get him back to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
He was infected with the disease from Tamil Nadu when he had went to buy liquor. He was admitted to the hospital on May 28 after he fell down unconscious while drinking with his friends.
According to reports, he was not at all cooperating with healthcare workers at the hospital.
