Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala records the highest ever single day jump of 608 cases of coronavirus. At the same time, 181 have recovered from the infection, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Of the total cases, Thiruvananthapuram has recorded the maximum cases with 211(58 contact) followed by Ernakulam 70, Malappuram 58, Kozhikode 58, Kasaragod 44, Thrissur 42, Alappuzha 34 (15 contact), Palakkad 26, Kottayam 25, Kollam 23, Wayanad 12, Kannur 12 and Pathanamthitta 3.
Of the confirmed cases, 140 arrived from abroad, 68 from other states. Meanwhile 396 people infected the disease through contact.
The situation in the state is getting worse after this highest number of fresh cases is being reported on the fifth consecutive day. The state is on the third wave of coronavirus outbreak.
