Kochi: In a major revealing, the gold smuggling accused Faisal Fareed had invested into four Malayalam movies. He had also spent money for other language movies for its release in Kerala.
It has been found that his contributions were made to a senior film director and a producer.
Faisal Fareed had also handed over the money to Arun Balachandran, Chief Minister’s former IT fellow, for a debut director. The NIA and Customs have received information about the films in which Faisal invested.
Once Faisal is questioned in detail, the probe will move towards more names in the Malayalam film industry. Meanwhile, steps are being taken to repatriate Faisal Fareed.
