Kozhikode: A 29-year-old man, who was travelling in Thiruvananthapuram bound Jan Shatabdi Express tested positive for coronavirus. The infected person is a native of Kanyakumari who boarded the train from Kozhikode before receiving his test results.
His sample was tested after he experienced physical difficulties three days back. As his wife was admitted to a hospital for delivery, he did not wait for the results to come and started off with the journey.
He was informed about the confirmation of coronavirus when the train reached Thrissur. He then alighted at the Ernakulam North railway station and informed the police and RPF officers. He was taken in an ambulance to the Kalamassery Medical College Hospital.
However, there were only fewer passengers in the train and no one was sitting beside his seat.
The train resumed the journey from Ernakulam after the compartment was disinfected.
