Kochi: NIA has confirmed terror links into gold smuggling case. The NIA also made a crucial revelation that Muhammadali, who was arrested in the case, is also a criminal in severing case. Muhammadali was taken into NIA custody yesterday.
A native of Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam, Mohammadali is the 24th accused in a severed case.
The NIA has also arrested another Muvattupuzha resident. The NIA has found that both of them were involved in a gold smuggling conspiracy.
The NIA has said that 10 people have been arrested so far in the gold smuggling case. The NIA said in a press release that the arrested suspects had terrorist links. Today alone, the NIA raided ten places, including the houses of arrested Jalal and Robinson.
The NIA found bank passbooks, hard disks and other documents from the house of the accused. Eight mobile phones and six SIM cards were seized. However, the NIA has not clarified the evidence obtained from the recovered materials. The NIA also found that many of those arrested were activists of the Popular Front.
