Pathanamthitta: Owing to the coronavirus outbreak, the state government will enforce strict covid protocols during the Sabaraimala temple pilgrimage season. The decision was taken at a preliminary meeting on Monday to discuss arrangements at the shrine that opens on November 16.
State Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran said, “Further meetings will decide on the exact protocols which will have to be followed. Chief Minister will also be joining in the upcoming meetings.”
A limited number of devotees will be allowed and entry will be restricted through the virtual queue management system. The devotees will have to compulsorily carry a COVID negative certificate with them.
