Kochi: Alumni of Aluva UC College have come forward with serious allegations against a prominent teacher. A student claims in a video her unfortunate experience she had from the teacher.
Amrita, an alumnus, recalls an incident when she was sexually assaulted by a prominent college teacher and students’ favorite while having tea outside the campus canteen. She alleged that the teacher who walked to her stretched his hand for a shakehand but grabbed her waist.
Amrita later said that the teacher walked away as if nothing had happened and she was shattered with the bad experience. She went on to search him in the department but could not find him. Later, when she saw him, he spoke rudely with her.
Amrita then questioned the teacher on his act to whom he replied, ” I thought you would take it in that way.”
The student alleged that the teacher told her that Amrita was one among a few children close to him in college and that was why he took the liberty.
According to Amrita, the teacher was not ready to admit his mistake. Amrita and the other students said that they were afraid to make accusations against the teacher, who is an ‘intellectual’ face on campus and has even won a state film award. In the video, the students say that even though the incident took place months ago, such sexual harassment should not be hidden from the public domain.
