Thiruvananthapuram: The cantonment police have registered case against BJP State President K Surendran and eight others after their protest at the Secretariat in the capital city.
The police allege that Surendran violated covid protocols and barged into the Secretariat.
However, K Surendran has denied all these allegations against him. The action can be seen as vindictive by the Pinarayi government for exposing their fraudulent activities by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On Tuesday evening, a fire broke out the Secretariat building following which BJP leaders including K Surendran protested outside and was then detained by the police. The Opposition and BJP alleges that the fire was caused deliberately to destroy and sabotage all evidences and documents of the high-profile gold smuggling case.
