Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President K Surendran said that the ministers are trying to mislead the investigation into the fire in the secretariat. He asked at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram how the ministers could reach a final decision before the probe is over.

“EP Jayarajan, Thomas Isaac and G Sudhakaran are giving clarifications in different ways. The ministers have a conspiracy to sabotage the investigation into gold smuggling case. The government burned the files to escape the gold smuggling case. The ministers said the first two days that it were e-files,” he said.

Surendran asked why the CM did not respond to a fire in a strategic place in his office.

Lashing out at Minister for Industries and Sports E.P. Jayarajan, Surendran said, “Minister Jayarajan said that security would be enhanced in the Secretariat. If so, it was the fault of the government that there had been no security.”

“The Pinarayi government’s move is to keep people reach out of the secretariat and like China model. The Secretariat is not Jayarajan’s ancestral property,” continued Surendran.

The BJP state chief said, “Jayarajan says that Surendran came to the Secretariat with sharp weapons and unleashed violence. Then why not grab it by the hand? Why was he released after being held in custody for three hours?”

The BJP state and district presidents were the only two sharp weapons at the spot, pointed out Surendran.

Another allegation is that we reached the spot before the Chief Secretary. How is it our fault that the Chief Secretary was late? asked the BJP leader.
