Kochi: In a significant development, the Customs Preventive Commissionerate will be interrogating Minister K T Jaleel in connection with the gold smuggling case. This comes after Enforcement Directorate questioned the Minister.
The decision comes after it was found that parcels reached C-apt via diplomatic channels and Customs find it suspicious in the delivery of holy book Quran in 250 boxes, as claimed by the Minister.
The Minister had earlier said that the parcel taken from the consulate to Malappuram, in the vehicle attached to a government enterprise named C-apt, was carrying Qurans. The Customs have however not approved this.
