New Delhi: In a significant hunt, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) busted Pakistan backed Al-Qaeda modules in Kerala and West Bengal on Saturday.
The NIA conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Ernakulam’s Perumbavoor Kerala and Murshidabad, West Bengal early morning and nabbed a total of nine terrorists- six from West Bengal and three from Kerala.
Based on specific inputs about an inter-state module of Al-Qaeda operatives, the NIA conducted raid in Kerala and West Bengal.
As per the preliminary investigation, these individuals were radicalised by Pakistan-based al-Qaeda terrorists on the social media and were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places including the National Capital Region,” the NIA said in a statement.
