Thiruvananthapuram: In a big setback for Pinarayi Vijayan-led government, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case into the alleged scam in Life Mission project. A case under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act has been registered by Anti-corruption unit at Kochi.
CBI has filed FIR at a special court. The case pertains to spending foreign fund against the actual purpose. This is a big blow to the state government who had ordered Vigilance to probe into the Life Mission project alleged scandal the other day.
However, the Opposition and the BJP had demanded CBI probe.
