Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded highest ever single day jump of 8,830 new cases of coronavirus today. At the same time, 3,536 people recovered from the disease. 1,28,224 patients have recovered till date in the state.
Ernakulam recorded the maximum cases with 1056 followed by Thiruvananthapuram 986, Malappuram 977, Kozhikode 942, Kollam 812, Thrissur 808, Alappuzha 679, Palakkad 631, Kannur 519, Kottayam 442, Kasaragod 321, Pathanamthitta 286, Wayanad 214 and Idukki 157. The total active cases in the state now stands at 67,061.
With an addition of 23 deaths, the death toll in the state now stands at 742.
Of the confirmed cases, 58 arrived from abroad while 164 from other states. 7,695 people contracted the disease through local transmission.
The number of cases rising day by day in the state is alarming.
