Kochi: In a big setback for Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left government, the High Court on Thursday maintained that CBI can proceed with the investigation in the controversial Life Mission project.
The court asked the government to cooperate with the CBI in the probe. The court’s refusal to give an interim order to pause CBI probe into Life Mission as demanded by the government has failed miserably.
The government in the High Court argued that all the allegations against the Life Mission were politically motivated.
The CBI asked the government whether the petition was to rescue Unitac in the investigation.
The state government had filed a petition in the High Court demanding to repeal the FIR filed by CBI. The petition was filed by CEO of the Life Mission on behalf of the government.
