BJP’s allegations has proved true about Secretariat fire; Was a deliberate attempt : K Surendran

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran on Tuesday said that the forensic report confirms the BJP’s stand that the files of the protocol section of the secretariat were deliberately destroyed by burning. He said in a statement that the Chief Minister should reply to the forensic report submitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial Court.

The BJP had pointed out that the fire was a planned move by the government to sabotage the gold smuggling case. A month before the fire, the Public Administration Department had issued a circular warning of a possible fire in the Secretariat.

“This circular is similar to the letter issued by the Chief Secretary validating the Chief Minister’s statement that the CCTV footage of the Secretariat was burned out in the lightning,” he said.

Surendran pointed out that BJP had asked whether Pinarayi Vijayan’s government had a prophesy that fire will happen.

The BJP leader demanded that the Chief Minister should explain how the Additional Secretary could make out which files were burnt during the fire. It was a deliberate attempt to conceal all the irregularities in the gold smuggling case and the Life Mission case, he said.

Surendran also demanded that all these suspicious events should be thoroughly investigated by the NIA.
