Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded highest-ever single day spike of 10,606 cases of coronavirus disease today. At the same time, 6161 patients recovered from the disease.
Kozhikode recorded the maximum cases with 1576, followed by Malappuram 1350, Ernakulam 1201, Thiruvananthapuram 1182, Thrissur 948, Kollam 852, Alappuzha 672, Palakkad 650, Kannur 602, Kottayam 490, Kasaragod 432, Pathanamthitta 393, Wayanad 138 and Idukki 120.
The death toll has crossed 900-mark. With an addition of 22 deaths today, the tally has climbed to 906.
Of the confirmed cases, 55 people arrived from abroad while 164 from other states. 9542 people infected through local transmission. The situation in the state continues to worsen day by day.
