Malappuram: An attempt to murder BJP National Vice President AP Abdullakutty took place in Malappuram’s Randathani on Thursday. His car was hit by another speeding vehicle and when he tried to get out of his car, it was again hit from behind.
Abdullakutty was on his way to Kozhikode when the incident happened. In between he stopped his car to have a cup of tea when a group of persons tried to manhandle him. Soon after this, his car was hit by another vehicle which can be assumed as a murder attempt.
Ponnani Police have registered a case in this regard for attempt to murder. The case is based on the complaint of Arun, a Yuva Morcha worker from Kannur who was with him. The case has been charged for threatening, detaining and throwing stones at the vehicle.
Abdullakutty was appointed as the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party last week.
