Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded the highest ever single day spike of 11,755 cases of coronavirus disease, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. At the same time, 7,570 recovered from the disease.
23 more people succumbed to the virus disease. The death toll has climbed to 978.
Malappuram recorded the maximum with 1632 cases followed by Kozhikode 1324, Thiruvananthapuram 1310, Thrissur 1208, Ernakulam 1191, Kollam 1107, Alappuzha 843, Kannur 727, Palakkad 677, Kasaragod 539, Kottayam 523, Pathanamthitta 348, Wayanad 187, Idukki 139.
Of the confirmed cases, 40 arrived from abroad while 169 from other states. 10,471 infected through local transmission.
66,228 samples were tested today. There 95,918 active cases in the state at present.
