Thiruvananthapuram: In a backfire to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh in her statement states that in 2017 the CM and the UAE Consul General had a private meeting at the former’s house.
A copy of the statement of Swapna made to the Enforcement Directorate has come to light. She stated that the CM knew her and that the appointment in Space Park was with the knowledge of the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister had unofficially claimed that Sivasankar will be in charge of the matters between the UAE Consulate and the government. Since then, Sivasankar used to contact her for all the matters, Swapna stated in the statement.
Swapna also revealed that she used to call Sivasankar regularly for all the matters related to the consulate followed by which their relationship grew through such conversations.
