Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a major revelation in the court that the 12th accused in the gold smuggling case, Mohammad Ali has nexus with terror outfits.
The court said that NIA’s investigation into the gold smuggling case was satisfactory.
The accused in the custody also had hatched conspiracy to smuggle more gold into Kerala, said NIA. When the court asked NIA to name the accused with terror links, the agency made the revelation that it was Mohammad Ali who was earlier acquitted by the court in a case where he severed a hand of a school teacher.
The court examined the case diary and the charges against the accused. Following this, the court adjourned the bail pleas of the 10 accused on Wednesday.
