Kochi: Former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M Sivasankar will move the High Court for anticipatory bail tomorrow in connection with the gold smuggling case. The petition will cite Customs-registered gold smuggling, dollar transactions and the investigation into the distribution of dates and religious scriptures.
Sivasankar has also decided to file a bail petition citing his health condition if the Customs officials arrive at the hospital to record his arrest. He is currently in the Ortho ICU. A medical board has been formed for the treatment of Sivasankar.
The Medical Board consists of doctors from the Department of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Cardiology. The Medical Board will hold a meeting today to decide upon Sivasankar’s follow-up treatment accordingly which the Customs will proceed with the action.
