Kochi: In a major revelation proving CPM’s involvement in the gold smuggling racket, the accused Sarith stated that there was a group in Telegram named ‘CPM Committee’. Sarith revealed this to the Enforcement Directorate in his statement.
The group was created by Sandeep Nair, another main accused in the case. Later, Sarith and Swapna Suresh were added in the group. Ramees had direct links with Faisal Fareed. Sarith in his statement denied that he did not know Faisal Fareed directly.
Sarith was responding to a question from the Enforcement Directorate on the gold smuggling conspiracy.
