Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has made COVID-19 negative certificate mandatory for people coming from other states. Health Minister KK Shailaja made the announcement in the wake of surge in the cases of infection.
Checking at the border will be tightened and the Minister said that those who recovered from the disease are found to have a variety of health problems. She said post-corona clinics would be set up in the state for their treatment.
“Currently, the number of corona patients in the state is on the rise. Everyone must strictly adhere to safety standards. If followed, the spread of the infection is likely to decrease by next month,” she said.
The government aims to reduce corona mortality. The current corona death rate in the state is 0.4. The government has taken all measures to make oxygen available in hospitals. Shailaja said that more health workers would be hired on a temporary basis due to the emergency situation.
