Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has come with the justification that the Chief Minister has no moral responsibility in the arrest of Sivasankar in the gold smuggling case. Despite the ED’s arrest of Sivasankar with clear evidence, the CPM still argues that neither the CM nor the CM’s office has any role to play.
The CPM is trying to get off the hook by placing all the blames over M Sivasankar. State Secretariat member M V Govindan rejected the demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister.
The state government is of the stance that Sivasankar has committed crime in his own personal capacity. The government says he was arrested because he was involved in the crime on his own and let it reach the final conclusion.
