Kochi: Decisive intervention of High Court in the transfer of Rs10 crore to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The High Court pointed out that the action of the Guruvayur Devaswom Board was illegal.
the three member bench passed a verdict that, the Devaswom Board is just a Trustee and that it is illegal to use Temple properties or assets for other purposes.
The full bench quashed the earlier judgment of the Division Bench that there was no fault in using the Devaswom fund for other welfare activities.
The verdict was passed in the writs filed by the Hindu Eikyavedi and Temple Preservation Committee.
The petitions were left to the consideration of the Division Bench for adjudication.
