Palakkad: DYFI insults the National Flag by hoisting it upside down in the Palakkad Municipality. It was done by ignoring all the criteria in Hoisting the Indian National flag.
DYFI had behaved in such a manner during the protest march against the hoisting of Jai Sree ram Flex in the Palakkad Municipality. The protesters climbed on top of the Palakkad Municipality building and hoisted the flag upside down.
The DYFI’s flag hoisting was deliberately in defiance of certain criteria set out in the Indian Flag Act. It is alleged that the DYFI hoisted the flag in defiance of the rules that the flag should not be hoisted on the ground, water or in any manner that would cause damage to the flag.
There is a growing demand for action against DYFI activists for insulting the national flag.
