Kozhikkode: A new case of Shigella disease reported in Kozhikkode. One and half year old boy from Farouk, Kallampara, was diagnosed with the disease today. The child has been undergoing treatment at the hospital for days due to diarrhea. The child’s health is reported to be improving.
The parents of the child have also been diagnosed with the symptoms of the disease. The source of the bacteria is still unknown.
The new case of Shigella was reported in Farouk after the Health Department said the disease was under control. According to the Health Department, the case in Farouk had no connection with the cases reported in the Kottamparamb area.
15 people from the Kottapparmbu area was diagnosed with the disease last day and about 30 people were diagnosed with the symptoms. One death was also reported.
