Kochi: Assembly speaker Sri Ramakrishnan lands in trouble after Gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh and Sarith testified against him. The speaker is accused to have handed over the bag containing dollars to Swapna. The customs have decided to interrogate Sri Ramakrishnan on the basis of this statement. He will be summoned and questioned next week.
The interrogation is based on the statements made by Swapna Suresh and Sarith to Customs and the confidential statements given to the magistrate about the role of Speaker Shri Ramakrishnan in the dollar smuggling case.
The important statement of both is that Sri Ramakrishnan had handed over the bag containing the dollars to Swapna and Sarith to deliver it to the UAE Consulate. A bag containing dollars was given to the accused by the speaker at a flat just before the gold smuggling was caught.
