Kannur: Azhikode MLA and Muslim League leader K M Shaji has been hospitalised following a heart attack. He was confirmed with Covid 19 infection in an antigen test conducted today. Shaji is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode and had to undergo an angioplasty.
Vigilance had questioned the MLA a few days back in connection with a complaint that he had taken a bribe of Rs25 lakh to sanction Plus Two section in the Azhikode High School. Since he has been confirmed with the infection, the Vigilance officials will also have to go in isolation.
