Thiruvananthapuram: The State Government on Sunday decided to handover the Solar Sex Scandal case to the CBI for further investigation. The government has decided to hand over six complaints to CBI on the basis of the request filed by the complainant.
Talking about the move, the congress leaders criticized the State government’s decision saying it was ‘politically motivated’. Former Chief Minister and one of the accused in the scandal Ommen Chandy said the government handed over the case to the CBI as the elections are round the corner. “The government sat on the case for nearly five years and decided it hand it over to the CBI as the elections are round the corner now”, he said.
The complainant, a former solar entrepreneur had accused rape allegations against Congress leaders Ommen Chandy, hibi Eden, K C Venugopal, Adoor Prakash and A P Anilkumar.
